 2011 will mark the 10th anniversary of The
Academy as an organization. Now in
our 7th year as a drum corps, our uniforms have been worn by nearly
1,000 students and performed in over 100 shows during the life of the
uniform. It is time to replace our
uniforms with a new set that will help launch the organization into the next
decade. With generous support from
three foundations, we have been able to secure $18,500 towards this effort and
can now enter the final phase of this campaign with an opportunity for
individual donors to see their name march on the field for the life of the
uniforms to come.

 Thanks to all who came to the Southwest Corps Connection II and braved the weather to see our Academy and 5 other corps perform. Many of you stuck around through the rain and got to see images like the one here that photographer Jeffrey Lowman captured. Once the rain subsided, there was just enough time to get three corps to perform before a sound ordinance was to take effect past 10:00. It was decided that The Mandarins, who had already loaded their equipment during the rain would back out of performing that evening so that the other corps could perform.
