The Academy Alumni Association – April (RE)cap

Alumni and Friends, Howdy everybody! My name is Joey Higgins but everyone called me Metalface when I marched. I am a board member for the Alumni Association. I marched trumpet with The Academy 2004 – 2007. Currently I supervise a day program for adults with developmental disabilities and am very slowly working on a degree in Wildlife Biology at ASU. In the fall I also help a valley high school with their marching program. Here is the recap for the month of April!!! Brass April Camp 3/27-3/29 was at Combs High School in San Tan Valley. Brass worked on the Opener of the show with Drill. Michael Klesch. Things are starting to come together even this early in the season. Truck Campaign Instruments are going in. Greetings Academy fans; Over the next several weeks we will be sending you a series of articles entitled “Meet the Academy.” We hope you will enjoy reading some great stories and getting to know some of the many Academy members, alumni, volunteers, parents, board members and long-time supporters that help make all we do possible. You can also “Meet the Academy” April 25th at Campo Verde High School in Gilbert. This event includes a dinner, a tour and a performance by the Academy.
