Drivers Wanted for 2015 Summer Tour

Academy Drum and Bugle Corps Needs Drivers The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps is a World Class, DCI affiliated Drum and Bugle Corps headquartered in Tempe, AZ.  The Corps caravan includes charter buses, two tractor trailers and two 16 passenger vans pulling trailers. We are in need of Volunteer Drivers for our 16 passenger vans from June 25 through July 25. Housing and food are provided as is the opportunity to see a number of DCI sponsored shows. We can take a driver for one or multiple weeks. This role does not require a CDL but will be subject to a background check and driving record verification. Driving occurs primarily at night. Meet The Academy – Issue 3

Greetings Academy fans; This is the third installment of our series “Meet the Academy.” This week’s edition features the profiles of a longtime volunteer, our color guard captain and an ardent fan and donor to the Academy. But first… It’s almost time for “move-ins” and the start of everyday rehearsals. Over the next 12 weeks our members will grow in so many ways; as musicians, as performers, as athletes, and as a family. They will pursue excellence every day and indeed learn what excellence is and just what it takes to achieve it. These are truly the building blocks of great people! Friends, we need your support. Traveling the country, providing 720 meals per day,  maintaining uniforms and equipment is expensive. So much of what we are able to achieve depends on the generosity of our donors. The Academy Alumni Association – May (RE)cap

Alumni and Friends, Hello! My name is Jamie Warhus and I am a board member for The Academy Alumni Association.  I marched in the guard for The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps from 2008-2010 and The Academy Winter Guard from 2008-2009.  I attended Arizona State University and graduated in 2011 with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  I currently work as an Elementary teacher in the east valley. Here is the (RE)cap for the month of May: Music Under The Stars: Music Under The Stars was held on April 23rd at Tempe Center for the Arts. The musical groups consisted of the Arizona Wind Symphony, Corona Del Sol HS, Desert Vista HS, and The Academy Horn Line.   April Camp: The April camp was held at Campo Verde High School.
