The Academy Corps Auditions Continue
Applicants braved the unusually foreboding weather this weekend and set the tone for the 2008 corps. There were 230 participants in the clinic this weekend from Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Washington. Prospective members met new staff, were exposed to the technical programs of The Academy, and began training for the long rehearsals that are just around the corner.
Many of the brass and percussion participants will attend the second mini-camp to be held this weekend at the Arizona State University Band Field in Tempe, AZ. They will welcome others that will be attending the auditions for the first time. Fortunately, the forecast calls for sunny skies with a high temperature of 66 degrees!
Color guard will not be a part of this weekend and continue the audition process at the January 4,5,6 camp.
We look forward to another great weekend and taking the next step towards setting our 2008 membership. If you are interested in participating in the clinic/audition weekend, it is not too late to register. Just go to the online application page here and let us know you are coming. You’ll be giving access to the applicant site where you can find out more about the auditions, maps, and other details.
We hope to see you there!
