2016 marked The Academy’s first DCI Finals appearance when we finished 11th with “Drum Corpse Bride”.

A drum feature involving 10 bass drums was one of the unique moments featured in The Left of Spring, utilizing mostly music by Igor Stravinsky.

2011 marked the first year for our tuxedo uniform. We also took the stage for the third time with our CenterStage theater production.

In 2010, The Academy performed “Strangers in Paradise” — it also marked the seventh and final year in our original red corps uniforms.

Performing our production “The Ascent”, The Academy placed 14th in the first DCI championships held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The Academy entered into a partnership with Jupiter, Mapex, & Majestic to secure new instruments for the corps. The Academy Winter guard placed 3rd in WGI Independent Open Class.

In 2007, The Academy was accepted into Division I (now World Class) for the first time, finishing 13th place overall in Pasadena, CA.

2006 marked The Academy’s first year competing in DCI Division II World Championships in Madison, WI, where the corps earned 1st place.

In 2005, we purchased our original (and current) food trailer from the Freelancers and expanded the tour for The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps to include Drums Along the Rockies, where the season concluded.

We added the color guard element to the field to create The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps. Competing for the first time in Division II, we made food from a box truck and a rented griddle!

In 2003, we were gifted of our first brass and percussion instruments by individual sponsors, and the Brass & Percussion Ensemble incorporated marching into their exhibition performances for the first time.
