Ricardo Robinson-Shinall
Caption Head
Ricardo Robinson-Shinall returns to The Academy for his second season as Color Guard Caption Head and assisting in the visual design elements for the corps. Ricardo is currently a Visual and Performing Arts Specialist for the School District of Manatee County and Colorguard and Musical Theatre Director at Braden River High School in Bradenton, Florida. His theatre students consistently receive superior ratings at both district and state Thespian festivals, and have several Top Honors performances at both. In his 12 years at Braden River, the Marching Band of Pirates has been FL State Champions 6 times. The Braden River Winterguards are consistently in the top of their respective classes in the FFCC and have been WGI Regional Finalists. In 2021 the Braden River JV Winterguard was a WGI Virtual Finalist.
Ricardo is originally from Mississippi where he attended the University of Southern Mississippi and was both Colorguard Captain/Coordinator and Drum Major for the Pride of Mississippi Marching Band. While in Mississippi, Ricardo was the Colorguard Director for the Petal High School Marching Band which won numerous state and regional Championships in band and color guard. He served for 10 years as the Colorguard Director/Coordinator for the East Central Community College Wall O’ Sound Band in Decatur, MS.
Ricardo has numerous choreography, design, and consultation credits for color guards and bands throughout the world including Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, Horizon Winds, U.S.F. Winterguard and University of South Florida Winterguard, McEachern H.S. (GA), Jackson Academy (MS), Columbia H.S. (MS), Denham Springs H.S. (LA), Amor Independent Winterguard (AL), Optemystic Independent Winterguard (MS), eMenience Indoor Percussion Theatre (MS), Lafayette H.S. (LA), the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (LA), and Tampa Bay Thunder Drum and Bugle Corps. Ricardo was also the color guard designer for the 2-time DCI Soundsport Champion the Medellin Gran Banda from Medellin, Colombia.
Ricardo has judged and critiqued top programs from all across the country. He has served on the Bands of America/Music for All Summer Symposium color guard staff since 2003. In addition to color guard and band, Ricardo is an active show choir, musical theatre, and dance company choreographer and director. His performance credits include the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps Colorguard 1998, Optemystic Independent Winterguard (1999-2003), eMenience Indoor Percussion Theatre (2004), Pride of Cincinnati (2008) and the 2001 DCI World Champions the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps.
Ricardo also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit, is the Assistant Director for Pageantry Arts Honor Society, serves on the Advisory Board for Our Marching Counts, and is on the Planning Committee for The Cookout.

As a seasoned performer, educator, and designer, he has consistently demonstrated a passion for excellence in both artistic expression and skill development. His commitment to the craft and the nurturing of emerging talent make him a valuable addition to the Academy family, enhancing the organization’s mission of fostering musical and visual excellence on and off the field. Pierre is ready to embark on this exciting journey with the Academy, elevating the world of drum and bugle corps to new heights.

Nicole hails from Virginia and is a versatile individual comfortable with taking on different roles. She has worked as a clinician, designer, technician, and visual instructor for scholastic and independent guards, marching bands, drum corps, and indoor drumlines across the East Coast, Midwest, and Texas.
In the late 1990s, Nicole performed for two years with Revelation Winterguard, an independent A Class winter guard based in Richmond, VA. She developed a strong passion for the sport after her first season. In the summer of 1999, she marched with the Patriots Drum Corps in Rochester, NY, where the corps earned a DCI Division II gold medal. After aging out of A-class competition with Revelation, Nicole relocated to Rochester to perform with the World Class Patriots Winterguard from 2000 to 2003. Her love for the marching arts continued to grow, which led her to perform in DCA competitions with the Rochester Crusaders and later with the Empire Statesmen.
Nicole has taught from 2000 to 2019 in various states, including New York, Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Ohio, Indiana, Mississippi, Iowa, Missouri, and Kentucky. She discovered her passion for teaching at the Mid-Atlantic Marching Band camp in Virginia.
In addition to teaching, Nicole is the founder of The Cookout, a Council Member of Our Marching Counts, and a member of the WGI Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She also hosts the podcast “On A Waterbreak”,
is the Indiana sales representative for Fruhauf, is a brand manager at Guard Closet, and serves as a design consultant for winterguards in many states. Additionally, Nicole serves as a marching band and winterguard adjudicator.
Currently, Nicole resides in Cincinnati, OH, where she enjoys attending theater performances, live music shows, and visiting comic book shops and art museums. Nicole is a strong advocate for mental health and encourages everyone to prioritize their well-being. This is Nicole’s second summer on thestaff at The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps.

André Williams
Movement Specialist
André Williams, a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, commenced his artistic journey as a percussionist. His fascination with performance led him to become the inaugural male member of the Warren Central World Guard from 2010 to 2011. Subsequently, he pursued a degree in Theatre at DePauw University, where he specialized in concert dance and tanztheater. During his studies, André spearheaded the establishment and direction of the inaugural Student-Led Dance Company on campus, conceiving and choreographing three prominent stage productions. In 2013, he participated in the Madison Scouts marching band while collaborating with various educational institutions across the Midwest.
Upon graduating, André returned to Indianapolis, where he honed his craft with the Phoenix Rising Dance Company and Studios, assuming roles as executive assistant, rehearsal director, and resident choreographer. In 2020, he founded his own dance company, Relevations Dance Company. Additionally, since 2019, he has served as the director of the Mt. Vernon Color Guard. This year marks his second year on staff at The Academy, where he specializes in movement and is delighted to be celebrating the institution’s Silver Anniversary.

Spencer Aneshansel is 23 and originally from Michigan but currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana. He started colorguard in high school and has since marched at many world class organizations in both DCI and WGI groups such as the Pride of Cincinnati and the Boston Crusaders. He began teaching Immediately after high school and has been on staff at many schools across the midwest as a tech, choreographer and director. He is very passionate about his students and the future of the activity!

Having grown up in Indianapolis, Jared learned a love for the performing arts at a very young age. Jared began his color guard career later in life while studying Music Education at Marian University. He later went on to perform with Zydeco Colorguard, O2 Color Guard, and Onyx. Jared has taught color guard at many Indianapolis area schools including Franklin Central H.S., Danville H.S., Ben Davis H.S., and Avon H.S.
Jared now lives in Houston, TX and serves as the Color Guard Director at Magnolia West High School in Magnolia, TX. He has been on the Music For All Summer Symposium Color Guard Faculty since 2016 and has previously been the Asst. Color Guard Caption Head at Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps. Jared is very excited to spend his second summer with The Academy!

Roxy Lazaro has 19 years of experience that spans across California. She was a part of Rancho Buena Vista High School Color Guard, LeAlta Winter Guard, Vox Artium Winter Guard and The Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps. Roxy has contributed her talents to numerous esteemed programs, including San Diego State University, Emerald Independent Open Winter Guard and many other programs in Southern California.
Currently, she is an integral part of the color Guard programs at Mission Hills High School in San Marcos, California, Oasis Ensemble in Gilbert, Arizona, Academy Drum and Bugle Corps in Tempe, Arizona, Vox Artium World and A Winter Guards in San Diego California, and will be joining the color guard staff at MFA (Music For All) in Indiana this summer.
Roxy’s dedication and expertise have made her a respected figure in the Color Guard community, known for her commitment to excellence and her passion for the art.
Roxy currently resides in Oceanside, California with her dog Khleo, works with the Oceanside Unified School District as an elementary school enrichment teacher, and enjoys making music.

Robbie Arnold is from Winchester KY, where he is a visual consultant, designer, and choreographer and holds a Master’s Degree in Teacher Leadership. He is currently an assistant director of Lexis Winterguard from Lexington, Kentucky who most recently placed 17th in World Class Semi-Finals at WGI in 2024.
Robbie teaches multiple championship marching bands in Kentucky including Adair County High School, Beechwood High School, George Rogers Clark High School, South Laurel High school and many others. His responsibilities at these programs range from training the ensemble visually, wind and color guard choreography, concept development and implementation and program coordination. Winter guard programs he works with include Braden River High School (FL), George Rogers Clark High School and Russell Independent HS, (KY) Summit HS (TN), and Magnolia West High School (TX). His roles include staging, choreography, concept development and production consultation.
Robbie’s performance experience includes the Pride of Cincinnati Winterguard and the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle corps. Robbie was also a choreographer for the Southwind Drum and bugle corps 04-06 Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps in the summer of 2017 and is currently in his second season as a choreographer for The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps.
He is married to Dana and they have two sons, Hayden, age 16 and Hudson, age 13.

Juan Brito has been involved in the community for almost 8 years. He started his career spinning with Braden River High School and kick started his drum corps career with Spirit of Atlanta in 2019. He also marched with them in 2021. After that he marched at Carolina Crown from 2022-2023.
Juan has helped choreograph at countless schools in Florida including Braden River High school, Wiregrass Ranch High School, and more. He is currently the Director at Newsome High School in Lithia Florida.

Allison Thibault Weber serves as Adjunct Faculty for the SUU Thunderbird Marching Band and Color Guard Director for SUU Independent (SUUI). Hailing from Burbank, California, and Cheyenne, Wyoming, Allison began her Color Guard career in 2008 with competitive high school marching band and winter guard. She attended the University of Wyoming, proudly marching with the Western Thunder Marching Band, where she advanced to assistant and then head Color Guard Captain. She also earned a spot in the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps Winter Guard, “Exsight,” and performed for two years with the group. Following her performing career, she joined the Western Thunder Marching Band as a staff member, eventually becoming head of staff. Allison graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Distributed Mathematics and Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Physiology) and a minor in Honors, before relocating to Las Vegas, NV, to pursue graduate studies.
Allison currently coaches, designs, and consults for multiple high schools in the WGASC, UCGC, and WGI circuits, serving as the director for four programs. She is also the co-owner of Skyline MDI, a company specializing in choreography, instruction, arranging, and drill design for competitive marching band and winter guard performances. Allison specializes in building Color Guard programs from scratch, and has a passion for new learners and establishing positive cultures in performing groups.
Outside of Color Guard, Allison serves as as a Post-Secondary Program Coordinator for Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas. As a first-generation college student herself, Allison is driven by a passion for increasing equity and access in higher education while honoring the individual identities, stories, and dreams of her students.

Keith Casey has been involved in the pageantry arts for over 40 years. He started performing with his high school marching band at the age of 12. From there, he marched trumpet (soprano) for the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps (1987-1988) and mellophone for the Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps (1989-1992) which was named DCI World Champions in 1991. During those years, he also performed with the Jacksonville State University Marching Southerners where he served as drum major (1990, 1991, and 1993). Additionally, he marched in the State Street Review Winterguard in 1993 which received the Bronze Medal in Independent World at Winter Guard International (WGI). After aging out, he transitioned to instructing and spent 13 years working with various high schools in Cobb County, Georgia. He served as the Assistant Guard Director at Lassiter HS (1996-2000). While at Lassiter HS, his programs achieved recognition as the 1996 WGI Scholastic A Class Champions, the 1997 WGI Scholastic Open Class Champions, and 1998 Bands of America Grand Nationals Champions. He also served as Guard Director at Wheeler HS (2000-2002), and at Alan C. Pope HS (2002-2007). After moving to Arizona he served as Guard Director at Mesquite HS (2007-2012) and Desert Vista HS (2012-present). He also serves the Asst. Band Director at Desert Vista HS, and serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary for Winter Guard Arizona (WGAZ). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English (Jacksonville State University) and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (Kennesaw State University). Currently in his 27th Year as an English teacher, he has taught at Lassiter HS (1998-2002), Kell HS (2002-2007), Red Mountain HS (2007-2012), and Desert Vista (2012-present). His varied background brings a wealth of knowledge and experiences to share.

Cari Eng, originally from Indianapolis Indiana, started out in the marching arts as a clarinet player turned color guard member. She was a member of the band and guard at Franklin Central High School where she had the honor of being a member of the WGI Open Class World Champion team in 2000. After high school, Cari joined the staff with the Franklin Central HS World Guard until she moved to Phoenix in 2003 after graduating from Indiana University with a BS in Computer Science.
In 2003, Cari joined Teach For America and began teaching and coaching here in Arizona where she earned her Masters Degree from ASU in Curriculum and Instruction. She currently works as the Director of External Data for the Arizona Department of Education. Cari has been actively involved in the Arizona Color Guard community since 2003. She previously lived in the northwest valley where she primarily worked as the colorguard director at Mountain Ridge High School but also supported Goldwater, Deer Valley, Boulder Creek and Peoria High Schools intermittently, as needed. Cari joined the Desert Vista staff in 2019 where she has served as the color guard co-caption head for the last 5 years.

Brandon is originally from Tampa, Florida. He began his marching arts experience in middle school as a percussionist and continued through high school. His sophomore year, he joined the winterguard, while still marching as a percussionist, but quickly realized the colorguard world was where he belonged. He continued on to march at USF Winterguard from 2008-2011, The Cadets 2010-2011, and Paramount 2012. He also studied modern dance at Kennesaw State University from 2014-2017 where he performed with the KSU Dance Company. Brandon has taught several scholastic guard programs including Gaither HS (Tampa, FL) 2010-2011 and Walton HS (Marietta, GA) 2012-2017. He currently works as a flight attendant and resides in Birmingham, AL. He is so excited to reignite his passion for the performing arts and can’t wait to start this journey with The Academy!

Kaylie is thrilled to return for her second year as a color guard instructor with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, bringing a rich background in performing arts, dance, and music education. With a passion for movement and storytelling, she has been deeply involved in the performing arts since the age of six, beginning her journey in music, dance, and theater.
Her color guard experience began in 2015, sparking a love for the art of visual performance. In college, Kaylie was a member of the Southeastern University dance team, further developing her technical and expressive skills. Currently, she serves as the Assistant Director of the Braden River High School Color Guard and will be stepping into the Director position this fall, leading the program with a fresh vision. She is also on the movement and dance staff for Horizon Winds World and works with various indoor ensembles in the area, helping performers refine their technique and artistry.
Beyond color guard, Kaylie is an accomplished musician and educator. As the Music Director of a local Florida studio, she teaches voice, piano, guitar, and musical theater, using her extensive music background to enhance her approach to movement instruction. Additionally, she teaches at a local dance studio, blending her knowledge of dance and music to create dynamic, expressive performances.
Kaylie is excited to continue inspiring performers at The Academy, fostering growth, excellence, and passion for the performing arts.

Bianca Wallace

From Indianapolis, Indiana, Bianca Wallace began her color guard journey at Ben Davis HS, with the Marching Giants. She competed in ISSMA, BOA, IHSCGA, WGI and local events while attending high school.
After graduating, Bianca continued her guard career performing with Onyx in Independent Open and World Class, and was awarded WGI IO Champion in 2012 and WGI IW Bronze Medalist in 2016. During her time with the O Foundation, she began her journey as a color guard educator with several groups in Indiana and a drum corps in Michigan.
For a handful of years, Bianca was the Color Guard Supervisor at Legends Drum and Bugle Corps (MI) and Color Guard Director at Franklin Central High School (IN), before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she had the opportunity to work with The Pride of Broken Arrow Guard.
Currently, Bianca resides in Fayetteville, AR pursuing her career in Massage Therapy and Esthetics.
